It has been an unfortunate development that many schools around the United States have required their students and teachers to walk through metal detector machines in order to gain access to classrooms. The unfortunate increases in violence that involves illegally obtained weaponry and knives have made schools a much less safe place. This has meant that metal detectors have been popping up in even the most innocent of locations such as elementary schools in rural districts. There has also been an increase in the number of surveillance cameras being used in schools and vast networks of cameras have been installed in a number of areas.
