Title:

National POW/MIA Recognition Day

Description:

Designating the third Friday in September as National POW/MIA recognition Day was established in 1998 with the Defense Authorization Act by congress. It is one of only six days during the year when POW MIA flags can be flown. For official display of this flag, it should always fly below the United States flag and it should never be bigger than the U.S. flag. This flag comes second in the order of precedence for flags and is often a part of ceremonies held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
